While sitting by the pool at my Scottsdale resort I started feeling a little antsy and hungry. So I walked around the pool and was talking to one of the guys who pass the towels out to the guests. I mentioned I was hungry and he recommended a lunch spot for me. He warned me that it wasn't in a "touristy" neighborhood, but it would be worth it.

Using my handy GPS I made it over to Los Reyes de la Torta! I believe I was the only English speaking person in the restaurant, so was optimistic I would be getting the "real deal."

The menu is in Spanish, but has lots of pictures. I keyed in on the house specialty, the "Torta Del Ray." This gastronomic ecstasy of a sandwich is filled with breaded beef, pork, ham, chorizo, cheese, and then topped with avocado, beans, tomatoes, onions, and jalapeno, and for the ultimate final touch a fried egg.

I have always enjoyed buying P.B. Loco peanut butter. The quality is great and the varieties of flavors is outstanding: Peanut Butter with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Peanut Butter with Jungle Banana, Peanut Butter with Asian Curry Spice, Peanut Butter with Sumatra Cinnamon and Raisin, just to name a few.

Now the folks behind the P.B. Loco peanut butter have begun opening P.B. Loco cafes. The first of which is here in Phoenix at the Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall (near Nordstrom).

They have a menu at Bobcat Bite, but everyone know's that the reason to visit the Bite is for the green chile cheeseburger! It's a thick and rugged hamburger, made from ground chuck and then topped with those famouse New Mexico green chiles and a creamy melted cheese. Melts in your mouth.
