While sitting by the pool at my Scottsdale resort I started feeling a little antsy and hungry. So I walked around the pool and was talking to one of the guys who pass the towels out to the guests. I mentioned I was hungry and he recommended a lunch spot for me. He warned me that it wasn't in a "touristy" neighborhood, but it would be worth it.
Using my handy GPS I made it over to Los Reyes de la Torta! I believe I was the only English speaking person in the restaurant, so was optimistic I would be getting the "real deal."
The menu is in Spanish, but has lots of pictures. I keyed in on the house specialty, the "Torta Del Ray." This gastronomic ecstasy of a sandwich is filled with breaded beef, pork, ham, chorizo, cheese, and then topped with avocado, beans, tomatoes, onions, and jalapeno, and for the ultimate final touch a fried egg.
