Chick-Fil-A Grand Opening

Usually we write about specific sandwiches or food items, but I wanted to share my experience at the opening of a brand new Chick-Fil-A restaurant.

We are all familiar with the famous Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, they enjoy quite a cult following. In fact, the day prior to opening there were hundreds of people camped out in the Chick-Fil-A parking lot.* The first 100 that arrived won coupons for free "chickin" for a year. The staff at Chick-Fil-A set up games and activities to keep everyone occupied while the wait for the official grand opening went on.

One couple that was waiting (and was within the first 100 people in line) were also celebrating their 50th wedding anniversay as well as theri 50th Chick-Fil-A grand opening celebration! That's dedication!

There were others in the parking lot who arrange their summer vacations around various Chick-Fil-A grand openings. It seems to be a Chick-Fil-A cult as several of the people already knew some of the others from various other locations.

The store was busy at opening time and remains busy. The store seemed busier than usual probably because there were so many managers and marketing staff on hand to make sure things went smoothly.

Usually the highlight of my visit to Chick-Fil-A is the traditional chicken sandwich and waffle fries. But on this visit my highlights were all the great people and that I got my very own "Eat Mor Chickn" doll (see photo). They were handing them out to all the children in the dining room, and as my wife pointed out to one of the managers, I was the biggest kid there!

The new Chick-Fil-A is in close proximety to a Chipotle, , Five Guys Burgers, , Dibella's Subs, Robeks and Panera Bread making the area a fast food mecca!
