A Chacerero is a traditional sandwich from Chile. As with most sandwiches it starts with homemade bread (made fresh daily), along with tender grilled stead and/or chicken. Sounds simple? Well after the basic bread and protein an extra ingredient is added, one that gives this sandwich authentically Chilean: steamed green beans! Muenster cheese, tomatos, avocado spread, salt, pepper and the secret hot sauce also make the sandwich complete.
Chacarero started out by selling their Chilean specialties from a pushcart! The unique sandwiches took awhile to take off as they are rather unique by traditional American standards. But eventually the sandwich gained a reputation and popularity.
Today there are two locations in Boston, and there are sure to be more!
